Change is endemic and inevitable and brings good and bad, intended and unintended 

consequences. Change is impacting the education system as technology and connectivity moves 

us all from the traditional classroom to the virtual classroom and from teacher centric learning to 

student centric learning. With these facts in mind the Global Partners in Education have decided 

that this is the right time to introduce a global multi-disciplinary journal that can provide a fresh 

outlook on global research and education. 

Global Partners in Education, (GPE http://thegpe.org) has created a worldwide Internet 

based community of more than thirty colleges and universities in more than twenty countries. 

The GPE provides opportunities for students to engage in real time collaborative courses, 

discussions, projects and research around critical topics that promote global understanding and 

advance higher education. In this collaborative environment students can become culturally 

tolerant world citizens who are able to live and work together in a global community.  

The GPE Journal (GPEJ) www.gpejournal.org provides the opportunity to share our 

research and our experiences with professionals and academicians worldwide. This journal will 

publish both scholarly research as well as practice based articles that advance the knowledge 

base of technology use and pedagogy in global education. The articles could include conceptual, 

empirical research and applied research dedicated to promoting excellence in teaching and 

stimulating progressive thought in the field of global education. The journal provides a forum for 

exchanging ideas, opinions and research results amongst academicians and practitioners around 

the world.  

The Global Partners in Education understands the power of collaborative enquiry and the 

role that a community of scholars, academicians, researchers and practitioners plays in modern 

scholarship. We seek to shift from competition to collaboration and the GPEJ is a platform to 

seed this effort to include different perspectives and diverse insights while exploring newer 

horizons.  



We invite your participation in the GPEJ as both a reader and a contributor and look

Call for Papers for Issue #2 GPEJ 

We  invite  you  to  submit  a manuscript  for  the next  issue of GPEJ which will be 

published  in the fall of 2011.   We are soliciting articles that describe your efforts 

to enhance global education and bring students together from around the world 

into a technology‐enabled classroom setting. The article can be based in research 

you have conducted about these activities or can be descriptive of the activities 

and what you have learned through them. Share your best practices!
