Editorial

The Hamdard Islamicus is known for representing various phases
of Muslim civilization. It discusses problems found in the interpretation of
medieval as well as modern age and seeks to attain and provide ‘Historical
Truth’.

This issue comprises four research based articles.

The first article “The History of Sumaniyyah (Buddhism) and its
Doctrines in the Arabic-Islamic Discourse – An Analysis” has been
contributed by Prof. Dr. Thameem Ushama and Shihab Hamood
Al-Tamimi (Malaysia).

Mr. Mohammad Yaseen Gada (India) discusses “Islamophobia
and its Historical Roots – Content, Context, and Consequences”.

From Malaysia Dr. Abdul Haseeb Ansari and Dr. Parveen Jamal
present a very important and significant matter pertaining to human health
in their article “Ethical and Islamic Perspectives of Biotechnology Research
and Human Consumption of Genetically Modified Organisms”.

Dr. Sultan-i-Rome (Pakistan) has analysed and discussed “Social
System of Swat YËsufzÊ” (YËsufza'i).

This issue also includes an obituary on the sad demise of Syed
Sharifuddin Pirzada, a leading luminary of Pakistan in the domain of
Jurisprudence and Legal Studies.
