From Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Sayed Sikandar Shah Haneef has critically examined the use of scientific technology in legal issues in his article entitled “DNA Test of Paternity in Islamic Law: Implications for Illegitimate Children Born Less Than Minimum Gestation Period in Malaysia”. Dr. Muhammad Akram (Pakistan) has provided a comparative study of fasting in his article “Meaning and Significance of Fasting in Comparative Perspective: A Study with Special Reference to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam”. “Some little known but inspiring examples of coexistence and cooperation between Jews and Muslims” by Dr. Zubair Zafar Khan (India) presents Muslims’ help and aid to the Jews saving them from Nazi persecution during World War II even at personal risks. Gleanings from the Pakistani press throw light upon the problems of contemporary Muslim World. This issue also includes an obituary on Prof. Dr. Zafar Ishaq Ansari, Professor Emeritus of International Islamic University, Islamabad, known for his high standard of academic research.
