ANNOUNCEMENTS Call for Papers on Argumentation and Rhetoric The Faculty of Humanities of Brock University and the Ontario Society for the Study of Argumentation announce a conference on Argumentation and Rhetoric to be held at Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada on May 15-17, 1997. Keynote speakers: Michael Billig (Social Science, Loughborough) Sally Jackson (Speech Communication, Arizona) Nicholas Rescher (Philosophy, Pittsburgh) Proposals are invited for papers in argumentation, rhetoric and informal logic, and the philosophy and psychology of reasoning, including practical, theoretical and historical topics. (Graduate students working in any of these fields are also encouraged to apply; those students who may require assistance to attend should send a note now to Chris Tindale in the event that funds become available.) Taken together, the papers constitute a wide- ranging set of essays which give a picture of the variety of issues and perspectives that exist in research into informal logic today.
