Tenth Biennial Conference 

of the International Society for the 
History of Rhetoric

The conference will be held at the Uni-
versity of Edinburgh, Scotland, from the 
morning of Wednesday, July 19, 1995 (with 
the registration beginning on the previous 
afternoon) until the evening of Saturday, 
July 22. 

The principal themes are: 
• Rhetoric, Poetics and Literary Theory 

• Prudence, Decorum. Taste 
• Rhetoric, National Identity and War 

• Rhetoric in Scotland

9th International Symposium 
Logica '95 

to be held at

(Central Bohemia), 
June 13 - 16, 1995

Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of 
Sciences of the Czech Republic 

Contributions devoted to any of the wide 
range of logical problems are welcome 
except those focused on specialized tech-
nical applications. Particularly appreciated 
are contributions that cover the issues in-
teresting both for 'philosophically' and for 
'mathematically' oriented logicians. 

The official language of the symposium 
is English. 

There is a registration fee for the sym-
posium covering full board and lodging at 
the Liblice Castle during the symposium, 
travel expenses from Prague to Liblice and 
back, and a copy of the Proceedings of the 
Symposium. The fee amounts to US$ 180 
(accompanying persons US$ 140).
