NODA Journal Fall 2007.indd 62 THE JOURNAL OF COLLEGE ORIENTATION AND TRANSITION A Look Back. . . Denise L. Rode In preparing this anniversary edition of The Journal of College of Orientation and Transition, the editors conducted a content analysis of the earliest NODA Journals to determine the salient concerns, trends, and issues of 25 years ago. Three articles were selected to be reprinted, representing three areas of ongoing interest for the profession: student staff selection and training using a theoretical model; a national overview of orientation programs, including program design, personnel, fees, and emphases; and suggestions for creating balance for student personnel professionals. While each article is a product of its time, there is much in each that has value for orientation professionals in 2007. We encourage those working in the fields of orientation and transition to add their voices to the growing body of literature that will guide practitioners of today and tomorrow by publishing in The Journal of College Orientation and Transition.
