This special edition of the jESE contains a collection of articles presented at this meeting. The 5-day event (including Monday’s Satellite Student Symposium) organized by the Association of South-East European Electrochemists (ASEEE) featured 5 plenaries, 15 keynotes, 71 contributed talks and 38 posters and was attended by 152 scientists and researchers from 23 countries. The scientific program is available in the book of abstracts and consisted of the following sessions: • Batteries & Electrochemical Energy Storage • Electrochemical Energy Conversion & Catalysis • Electrochemical Processing & Engineering • Corrosion Science & Corrosion Protection • Organic Electrochemistry & Bioelectrochemistry • Electroanalytical Chemistry & Sensors • General Topics & Physical Electrochemistry • Kurt Schwabe Symposium The chairs of this symposium placed special emphasis on the participation of young scientists from Southeastern Europe and more than 2 years of online-only conferences, this opportunity for a face-to-face meeting was gladly accepted. It had already become clear during the previous events in this symposium series how important personal professional exchange in this region is for the progress of the traditionally strong electrochemistry in Southeastern Europe.
