The puppet also has good values delivered. In an educational pursuit, puppet story has characters that are also included in the 18-character value that has been determined by the curriculum in 2013 as efforts to establish the desired character of the nation and the State. Although the puppet contains good values that can be emulated, unfortunately generation of young people today just do not know the puppet. This is influenced by the development of technology that can not only be used to help complete the work, but also as a means of entertainment. This makes the younger generation today more interested in the development of the technology than in puppet. To introduce the puppets again children, it can be done by introducing one puppet stories. The story introduced should also start from scratch a puppet story. It is expected that by the introduction of one of the stories of the many stories puppet, it can make children interested in puppets and imitating good attitude conveyed in the story. Story that can be used for the initial introduction of the puppet is a story about the birth of Gatotkaca. This is because many know about the characters of Gatotkaca; therefore, it begins with the initial story of his birth. From the story of the birth Gatotkaca there are also many good things delivered and there are also other figures like clown is widely known. It is also expected to be able to facilitate the children to get to know the story because there are already several characters they know. INTRODUCTION Quoted from research Yogyasmara Ardhi, the puppet is the art of the most prominent among works of other cultures in Indonesia because it contains many elements of art ranging from the art of acting, drama, art, sound art music, the art of speech, literary arts, painting, sculpture and art symbol[1].Even so, according to Harry D. Fauzi, the young generation of today can be hardly familiar with puppet[2].This is because the amount of technology that goes into Indonesia and makes people easily forget about culture[3]. Meanwhile, in the puppet there is also a good character education to form a good attitude. This can be seen in Sri Handayani’s and Anggita’s research which says that the attitude of one of the puppet characters are Kumbakarna included in the 18-character value that has been determined in the curriculum in 2013 as efforts to establish the desired character of the nation and the State[4]. Therefore, puppets need to be known by the child to provide much of the teaching especially in shaping character. Through the story, it is expected that the child is able to learn more about puppets and learn to do many good things presented in the puppet story. To determine the good story of puppet, several methods used to choose the story suitable for children. There were also some good things in the story that can be conveyed properly. II. LITERATUR REVIEW II.1 History of Puppet Puppet is very familiar to the public from the first until now because the puppet is a traditional and cultural arts and the culmination of the culture of the area. If it is traced, puppet proposal is not easy. Even scholars and humanists have crisscrossed opinions. Starting from Hazen with Rassers up experts Indonesia K.P.A Kusumadilaga, Ranggawarsita, Suroto, Sri Mulyono and much more. But of all the scholars said that the puppet is already there and growing since 1500 BC. As it grows, the puppet of the past and present have differences. Similarly, in the future, there would be a change to follow the day. Puppets and puppetry have faced the difference that begins from ancient times, the days of the Hindu, the emergence of Islam, the colonial period to independence and the future national development and global life. Even so, the changes will not affect the puppet identified for the puppet has a solid bedrock of that Hamot, Hamong and hamemangkat. Hamot is the openness to accept the influence and enter from within and from outside. While Hamong is the ability to filter the new element as the value - the value of existing puppet. And hamemangkat is something I value becomes the new value and it is not easy because it must go through a long process[5]. II.2Character Formation of Puppet One of the figures reviewed in the study conducted by Sri Handayani and Anggitayang review puppet characters of Kumbakarna[4] explained that Kumbakarna has honesty, hard work, perseverance, responsibility, social care, patriotism and high sense of nationhood. Similarly the value of the character entered in the 18-character value that has been determined by the curriculum in 2013 as efforts to establish the desired character of the nation and the State. According to Joko Sutarso and Bambang Murtiyoso in his research the mastermind was also instrumental in making the puppet becomes a source of moral education through the packaging and presentation so that potentially be a source of education and character[6]. It is also expected the mastermind is able to develop a puppet show for puppeteer also act as role models in moral education. III. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY The methods used in the study determining the right story to be introduced to the child are interview and observation. The interview process is conducted by Mr. Cahyono from Sobokartti. In the process of this interview there are some questions submitted to obtain the information needed. Furthermore, observation is done by finding research about puppets and stories well introduced to the child. In the present study found eight studies with discussion of Anoman and approximately 14 studies that discuss Gatotkaca. From this process, a lot of information on Gatotkaca story is found. As in the study done by Dini Sugiarti saying that Gatotkaca is the hero of a famous puppet[7].From some researches the information in the selection of stories can be collected. IV. DISCUSSION In this stage of the interview conducted by a question and answer process with Mr. Cahyono it is found that most of young puppeteers in Sobokartti are in elementary school age. In addition, according to Mr. Cahyono, puppets need to be introduced to children as it can be used as a means of education. This was done so that children can know more about the puppet characters played and can take a good example of the attitude of the character. Here Mr. Cahyono also gave opinions on a good story introduced for children, and some of these stories are about Anoman, Birth of Gatotkaca and Anoman Duta. The interview also provided information that there are a lot of examples of the stories conveyed, while there will only be one puppet story used. Because in the interview a puppet story cannot be selected, then an observation is done to obtain a story that will be used. Then from further interview , there are two stories that can be used, Anoman and Gatotkaca. Further study found that Gatotkaca with his characters is often used in stories This is because Gatotkaca become very popular puppet characters[8]. V. RESULTS From interviews and observation that have been done, it can be found it is good to use the story of Gatotkaca puppet as an early introduction to children. It is taken from the beginning of the interview that Gatotkaca and Anoman story can be used. As we just want to use one character, we did observation by learning some researches and decided to use Gatotkaca. asGatotkaca is popular as a hero in puppet. Besides the selected stories from the many stories Gatotkaca is started from the story of his birth so that the child becomes know about the story of the beginning of Gatotkaca and according to Nathanael, the story of the birth of Gatotkaca has good values taught[9]. V. CONCLUSIONS From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that by using interviews and observations made by comparing the two stories which is derived from the interview, it is found that a story about the birth of Gatotkaca can be used as an initial introduction the puppet to children. It is also found the birth stories of Gatotkaca are good to be introduced to children because they have good values that can be emulated by children.
