They are being used for a tremendously diverse range of activities, from auctioning stained glass and second hand shoes, to publishing the real-time images of planetary fly-bys. Following on from the success of and interest in the first Annual Conference on World-Wide Web Applications, the aim of this second WWW applications conference is to give participants an opportunity to describe and discuss novel Internet and Web applications and developments. The organisers are inviting contributed papers in areas of specific interest to the research, academic and business communities. The following topics are given as suggestions but speakers are not limited to these subjects: 1. Using the Web as a medium for publishing research results 2. The Web as a business enabler 3. Learning via the Web 4. Web site management 5. Science and the Web 6. Designing the Web for special needs (for example, the visually handicapped) 7. The Web and society 8. Comparisons of search engines 9. Content and the Web 10. Innovative applications and uses of the Web 11. The intranet for knowledge management 12. Integrating images, text, video and sound 13.
