Page 2 P H Y S I O T H E R A P Y March, 1961 E D I T O R I A L During the early months o f the year 1961 a number o f physiotherapists will be starting out as qualified members o f the profession in their first posts. We would like to congratulate those who have been successful in the final examinations and wish them a happy and successful career in physio therapy. Here in South Africa we now have three Training Schools with final-year students as the University o f Cape Town, Department o f Physiotherapy has this year, sent out their first set o f diplomates. We welcome these Capetonians in our midst and may they be the forerunners o f many more who will give the lead to others wishing to serve a useful and satisfying way o f life. Physiotherapists must have a sense o f responsi bility to those they serve— their patients— but also a sense o f responsibility towards each other and their employers. In giving o f ones best to each and all so can the best be had out o f life and a worth while career be built up. We welcome all new members o f the South African Society o f Physiotherapy and hope all those who have recently qualified will join the ranks and in time contribute to the development o f an even more influential and united Society. This Journal reaches Training Schools in many parts o f the world, so may we take this opportunity o f sending our best wishes to those physiotherapists elsewhere, who within this time will also be embarking on their first assignments. We are proud to learn that our contributions are read and appreciated in many schools and by many overseas physiotherapists, besides those in this country.
