E xam ination fever is ru n n in g high, a n d o u r best wishes are extended to those students w ho are now concentrating so h a rd on th e ir finals. M ay they all pass a n d fill the ra n k s o f qualified Physiotherapists in the N ew Y ear. W ith the new train in g school opening in C ape T ow n in the very n e a r future, o u r S o u th A frican tra in e d students will be increasing in num bers. I t is m o st gratifying to learn th a t overseas o u r students have m ade such g o o d im pressions, a n d are filling posts all over B ritain w ith great success. O p p o r­ tunities are presenting them selves for people to o b tain overseas experience, b u t rig h t here in o u r m idst, m u ch w ork rem ains to be done a n d m u ch experience can be gained. T he ability to be able to w ork in a team is a great a ttrib u te fo r a p h y sio th erap ist to have. It shou ld be realised th a t even if th e team consists o f only tw o, m u c h better results can b e . o b ta in e d by all c oncerned w orking together. T he patient m u st be p a rt o f the team , a n d a very im p o rta n t part, whose c o -o p eratio n is essential. T h e M edical Officer, P hysio th erap ist, O ccupational T herap ist, Social W o rk er an d P a tie n t represent the usual m em bers o f a therap eu tic team , but, w hen necessary, o th er specialists are called in. In som e instances, as in private practice, the team is sm aller, but, be it one p h y siotherapist a n d one patient, two physio­ th erap ists a n d one patient, o r a n u m b er o f interested people, team w o rk is the essence o f g ood physio­ therapy. T his was a very im p o rta n t po in t m ad e a t the 7th W orld C ongress for the C are o f C ripples held in L o n d o n , England, July 1957, a n d o f which m ore ap p ears elsewhere in this issue. O nce again th e ed ito r w ould like to th a n k all those w ho have sent in c o n trib u tio n s such as articles, tre a tm e n t notes a n d social' notes d u rin g this year fo r p u b licatio n in th e Jo u rn al. It is this su p p o rt o f the m em bers w hich is so essential to the success o f the Jo u rn a l, so please co n tin u e in 1958 to keep us supplied w ith any articles a n d notes which are o f in terest to all a n d o f a news value.
