Those of us w ho were closely associated w ith V ona, knew her to be a very special person, who was successful tm in all facets o f h e r life. H e r extrem ely delightful and strong personality bro u g h t h e r loyalty and adm iration from all who knew heir. M A R Y G E R T R U D E P E R IC H O Mrs. M ary G ertru d e Pericho was a m em ber o f the Physiotherapy staff of the Johannesburg G eneral H os­ pital fo r 30 years, and during that tim e took an active interest in th e D epartm ent. She also took g reat delight in tending the little garden situated in the precincts o f the D ep artm ent; this garden was a real “ oasis” in the midst o f P hysiotherapy. T h e D epartm ental C hristm as parties w hich she organised so well, will long be rem em bered by all of us, as will her keen Irish sense of hum our. U ntil well in her eighties, she played bridge and golf, in the latter, at one time representing her club, Parkview , in many com petitions. H er passing on the 28th June, 1974, will leave a gap, not only to her colleagues, but to her many friends. H. M. K ruger.
