C ongress in S ydney, A u s tra lia b ecau se th e W .C .P .T . refused to te r­ m in a te th e m em b ersh ip o f th e S o u th A fric a n S ociety of P h y s io th e ra p y . T his d ecisio n is in a c c o rd a n ce w ith a re q u e st by th e D an ish g o v e rn m e n t to sto p all c o n ta c t w ith S o u th A frican o rg a n isa tio n s. T h e D a n sk e F y s io te ra p e u te r is now calling on all m em ­ bers o f th e W .C .P .T . to b o y c o tt th e C ongress because “ T he S o u th A frican P h y s io th e ra p y A sso c ia tio n (S .A .S .P .) in d ire c tly rep resen ts th e A p a rth e id R egim e o f S o u th A fric a ”. O ne w o nders w h at type o f resp o n se is necessary to an epistle o f this n atu re. T h e p h y sio th e ra p ists o f D e n m a rk have decided in th eir w isd o m th a t th e S o u th A fric a n S o ciety o f P h y sio th e ra p y rep resen ts “ in d ire c tly ” th e g o v e rn m e n t o f th e R e p u b lic o f S o u th A frica. M ay one ask w h eth er th e D an sk e F y sio te ra p e u te r re p re ­ sents th e D a n ish g o v e rn m e n t? D oes th e s ta n d a rd o f p h y ­ s io th e ra p y service to p a tie n ts in D e n m a rk d ep e n d o n the p a tie n ts ’ in d iv id u al p o litic a l affiliation? If so, th e n all is n o t well in th e state o f D en m ark . It is clearly th e wish o f th e D an ish p h y sio th e ra p ists to follow th e ir g o v e rn m e n t’s policy.
