e447 | SQU Medical Journal, May 2015, Volume 15, Issue 2 إشعار بنشر مزدوج الفوائد املتصورة من التدريب باحملاكاة يف ما قبل املرحلة السريرية على حصيلة التدريب السريري عند طالب التمريض العمانيني Notice of duplicate publicatioN Notice of Duplicate Publication Perceived benefits of pre-clinical simulation-based training on clinical learning outcomes among Omani undergraduate nursing students The Editors of Sultan Qaboos University Medical Journal (SQUMJ) have been informed that an article by Madhavanprabhakaran et al. in the February 2015 issue of SQUMJ overlaps significantly with the content of an article published by Madhavanprabhakaran et al. in Nurse Education in Practice in April 2015.1,2 The Editors of SQUMJ wish to notify the readers of both journals of this issue. Upon examination of the above two articles, there was evidence of major duplication/overlap with neither article referencing the other. The levels of similarity and duplication between the articles contravened the policies of ethical publication as defined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and the Committee on Publication Ethics.3,4 For the reasons stated herein, the article by Madhavanprabhakaran et al. in Nurse Education in Practice has now been retracted.2 The article by Madhavanprabhakaran et al. will not be retracted from SQUMJ.1 The authors have agreed to the publication of this notice. The corresponding author takes sole responsibility for the duplicate publication and would like to apologise to the readers, reviewers and editors of Nurse Education in Practice and SQUMJ.
